Specialized network services demonstrators & benchmarks
This document provides the report on the implementation of network Quality of Service and the benchmark realized. This activity has studied and benchmarked different approaches enabling web real-time communications with QoS, and implemented software components to experiment and integrate them in the reTHINK framework. The two main approaches are based, one on the LHCB
(Last Hop Connectivity Broker), and takes place before the communication to select the best network to attach, the other, so called network based
, relies on traffic management in the network during
communications and covers several loosely coupled schemes between CSP, NSP and their end-users. We selected and tested different algorithms to significantly improve the quality of the real-time communications in terms of latency and bandwidth sharing with competing traffic.
